D1 (Apr 4) LISBON (D)

Upon arrival in Lisbon, meet the English speaking local guide and have a short orientation tour of the city on the way to the hotel. Then check in and have some free time to freshen up before having dinner at the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the evening free for leisure.

 

D2 (Apr 5) LISBON - OBIDOS - FATIMA (BLD)

Have breakfast in the hotel before checking out and taking a half day city tour of Lisbon with your English speaking local guide. Visit Jeronimos Monastery, the Moorish Quarter of Alfama and Belem Tower. Also see Lisbon from Miradouro de Nossa Senhora do Monte (Our Lady of the Hill) viewpoint. Then end your half day tour in Praca do Comercio (Commerce Square) for some free time before transferring for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, transfer to the picturesque town of Obidos. Have some free time to explore the town on your own before transferring to Fatima. Upon arrival, check in the hotel before joining the evening procession. After, transfer for dinner before heading back to the hotel for overnight.

 

D3 (Apr 6) FATIMA - COIMBRA - PORTO (BLD)

After breakfast in the hotel, check out and take your half day tour of Fatima with your English speaking local guide. Visit the famous Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, built to commemorate the events of 1917 when three peasant children claimed to have seen the "Virgin of the Rosary", Our Lady of Fatima. After your tour, have some free time before having lunch at a local restaurant. Then transfer to Coimbra, the city of students and where one of the oldest universities in Europe is located. There, have a walking tour with photo-stops at monuments and visits to local handicraft shops and bakeries. After, transfer to Porto where you will visit Batalha square, Santa Catarina Street, the Majestic Cafe, the Bolhao market and Aliados Avenue. Also take a 6 Bridge Cruise on River Duero before having dinner and checking in the hotel for overnight.

 

D4 (Apr 7) PORTO - SALAMANCA - ZAMORA (BLD)

Have breakfast in the hotel before checking out and transferring to Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage Town in Northwestern Spain and the capital of the Castile and Leon region. Upon arrival, have lunch at a local restaurant before taking your city tour with your English speaking local guide. Have photo-stops outside Universidad Civil and House of Shells. Also see the Plaza Mayor, Puente Romano Bridge across the River Tormes and get to enter the "new" Cathedral. Then have some free time before transferring to Zamora where you will have dinner and check in the hotel for overnight.

 

D5 (Apr 8) ZAMORA - LEON - OVEIDO (BLD)

Have breakfast in the hotel before having some free time to enjoy the city before checking out. Then transfer to Leon and take your city tour with your English speaking local guide. See the handsome facade of what used to be a hospital for pilgrams on the Way of Santiago and is nowadays a 5 star Parador Hotel. Have exterior views of the Cathedral and Basilica de San Isidro before having lunch at a local restaurant. Then have some free time before transferring to Oviedo. Upon arrival, check in the hotel and have some free time before transferring for dinner. Then head back to the hotel for overnight.

 

D6 (Apr 9) OVIEDO - COVADONGA - SANTANDER - BILBAO (BLD)

Have breakfast in the hotel before checking out transferring to Covadonga. There, have free time to visit the Sacred Cave of the Virgin of Covadonga. Then have lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to Santander. There, have a panoramic tour of the city before heading to Bilbao. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel where you will have dinner and check in for overnight.

 

D7 (Apr 10) BILBAO - SAN SEBASTIAN - BILBAO (BLD)

Have breakfast in the hotel before taking a half day city tour of Bilbao with your English speaking local guide. Have an exterior visit of the Guggenheim Museum, visit the old quarter called "7 Streets", the Basilica of Artxanda and go to the suspension bridge at Portugalete. Then have lunch at a local restaurant before taking an excursion to San Sebastian. There, take a short tour and experience pintxos tasting. After, head back to Bilbao for dinner and overnight.

 

D8 (Apr 11) BILBAO - PAMPLONA - ZARAGOZA (BLD)

Have breakfast in the hotel before checking out and transferring to Pamplona. There, take a half day city tour with your English speaking local guide including an exterior visit of the Estafeta Street where the bulls run every year during the fiestas of San Fermin from their pens to the bullring. After, have lunch at a local restaurant before having some free time. Then transfer for your long distance drive to Zaragoza. Upon arrival, have dinner and check in for overnight.

 

D9 (Apr 12) ZARAGOZA - MADRID (BL)

Have breakfast in the hotel before checking out and transferring to Madrid. Upon arrival, have lunch at Botin, the world's oldest restaurant. After lunch proceed for your half day city tour with your English speaking local guide. Visit the Prado Museum and the Royal Palace. Then check in the hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening free for leisure. Dinner is on your own arrangement.

 

D10 (Apr 13) MADRID - TOLEDO - MADRID (BLD)

After breakfast in the hotel, transfer for your excursion to Toledo and enjoy an orientation tour of the city with your English speaking local guide. Visit Santo Tome and Santa Maria la Blanca Synagogue before having lunch at El Castanar country house, a typical bull farm. After, have a guided visit of the farm and enjoy a Bull trimmer show where locals jump over the bulls. Then head back to Madrid where you will have dinner at a local restaurant before heading back to the hotel for overnight.

 

D11 (Apr 14) MADRID - SEGOVIA - MADRID (BL)

After breakfast in the hotel, transfer for your excursion to Segovia with your English speaking local guide. Visit the Alcazar Castle which was the inspiration of Walt Disney for his film Snow White. Also have an exterior visit of the UNESCO Heritage site the Roman Aqueduct. Then have a cochinillo lunch at the world famous Meson de Candido. After, head back to Madrid where you will have free time to shop or explore. Dinner is on your own arrangement before being picked up again to transfer to the hotel for overnight.

 

D12 (Apr 15) MADRID - VALENCIA (BLD)

Have breakfast in the hotel before checking out and transferring to Valencia, Spain's third largest city. Upon arrival, have a paella lunch at a local restaurant before taking your city tour with your English speaking local guide. Begin in the quarter called El Carme where you will see a mixture of religious and civil buildings of various styles, followed by a visit to the Cathedral. Also have photo-stops at the North Station, Serranos and Quart Towers, Central Market, Lonja (old silk exchange), Round Square, Virgin Square, and the exterior of the Basilica del Pilar and the Generalitat Palace. Finally, enter the complex of La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias or the "City of Arts and Sciences". Then head over for dinner at a local restaurant before heading to the hotel to check in and overnight.

Have breakfast in the hotel before checking out and transferring to Montserrat. Have lunch enroute. Upon arrival, visit the Monastery (one way funicular ticket included) and listen to the choir (escolania) sing at midday. Then have some free time before transferring to Barcelona. Upon arrival, have a lobster dinner at Marina Monchos. Then check in the hotel for overnight.

 

D14 (Apr 17) BARCELONA (B)

Have breakfast in the hotel before transferring for a whole day shopping. Transfer to La Roca Village. Then in the afternoon, transfer to La Rambla and continue shopping before heading back to the hotel for overnight. Lunch and dinner are on your own arrangement.

 

D15 (Apr 18) BARCELONA - MANILA (BLD)

Have breakfast in the hotel before checking out and enjoying your half day city tour of Barcelona with your English speaking guide. Visit the Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell. Then have lunch at a local restaurant before having photo-stops outside Gaudi's works, Casa Mila and Casa Batlo.
